abominable yeti miniature for my D&D 5E games

Focus on a D&D 5E mini: abominable yeti

Why bother with an abominable yeti miniature?

Watch the video to see how large and scary these Monstrosities are. Most adventurers would be wetting their pants if they came across this guy. Also reindeer and elves who want to be dentists. Big ol’ scary guy. Or girl- no gender assumptions here.

What about this mini?

This unpainted miniature is from WizKid’s Nolzur’s Marvelous Miniatures range, the Abominable yeti #90433. It’s a nice sculpt, and there are not a lot of colours to these guys so it was very quick to paint, which is nice for a huge-sized miniature. Which, by the way, is the size that it is supposed to be, so that’s nice. If you have a mountainous or arctic adventure, these would be a great encounter in your Dungeons & Dragons game.

How useful is this mini, really?

Abominable yetis are included in 8 published Dungeons & Dragons 5th edition books:

That’s quite a few books for a creature limited to extremely cold habitats- I’m impressed. The D&D designers clearly enjoy the abominable yeti, and who are we to disagree with them? If you like snowy settings for your campaigns, it’s probably worth picking one of these up. If not, then there’s probably not a lot of point- it’s going to be a pretty niche creature.

But why are you doing this?

As usual for these videos, my aim is to provide good views and sizing information. As I already said, it’s huge and that’s the correct size. Also, as usual I want to thank wildlife artist Sherrie York, reduction linocut master, for kindly allowing me to use one of her pieces, Shivano Sunset, as the backdrop for the minis.
